Sesadi was born in a university
Based on a module that was successfully deployed at university level
Sesadi originated in a desire to help struggling first year students and was based on research into why students dropped out of college.*
The approach and module were developed and refined over a thirteen-year period at Maynooth University while delivering undergraduate courses in Geography, Adult Education and European Studies.
For seven years up to 2017 this unique module was compulsory for Maynooth’s first year students in European Studies.
Building upon this, Sesadi now offers two tutorial series to suit all students called The Sesadi Project and The College Ready Series.
* It is worth noting that social exclusion, poor research skills and IT proficiency are among the reasons for student drop-outs and these inform the Sesadi design. TRIFTY school interns surveyed college students to reveal many of the problems encountered with findings applied to our service.
