Problems being addressed

Gap between community, second and third level education

Sesadi uniquely addresses prevalent gaps in education systems.

If you or a family member is approaching the step-up into higher learning from either secondary school or adult/community education, Sesadi is for you.

It’s an education service which makes that step ordinary and natural.

shortage of critical thinking, IT and basic presentation skills

The Sesadi Project promotes and develops critical thinking and independent research.

Sesadi students learn and apply essential IT, analytical, writing and presentation skills.

Key demographics being left behind

Through actively targeting specific groups, Sesadi opens potential opportunities to many new students.

Students within formal education are assisted while others are also considered.

These ranges from the most disadvantaged generally being introduced to, and helped succeed at, further education through to highlighting courses looking to attract specific cohorts such as those requiring a greater female uptake for example.

Lack of applied knowledge and skills

Through using contemporary case studies such as The EU, Climate Change and The Corona Virus pandemic, subjects and skills are applied to the real world.

Students are equipped to learn, think critically, and to analyse and present their findings.

poor student retention

Many of the one in six first year students who drop out of college courses do so because they just aren’t ready for the experience.

Sesadi aims to make them ready and well able for the step-up.

digital inequality

With extensive use of technology and assisting many in need, it becomes clear that Sesadi is in the business of digital inclusion.

Sesadi opens up the possibility and options for further education while providing the skills needed when there.

Sesadi contributors and students generate content and some gather data that directly address digital exclusion and may inform public policy formulation.

Education systems in transition

Rote classroom learning alone and an entirely one way flow of information are no longer viable.

Blended and online learning are becoming essential particularly during Covid restrictions.

Sesadi both eases students into, and prepares them for, this learning environment.

Current students are even less confident entering college within a particularly unprecedented unsure and anxious transition from school.

Sesadi assists as education systems are adapting to students living in an information rich environment where digital and peer generated content are king.

Online learning that promotes fundamental skills, creativity and further education is required more than ever as people realise the need to be able to learn from home and to consider further education and retraining.

While preparing them for it, Sesadi opens and promotes the real potential for - and accessibility of - further education to a wider range of people.
